Thursday, May 2, 2019. This morning, we walked past Prague's Old Town Hall with the Astronomical clock. We didn't linger as we were on a mission, but we did get some pictures and enjoyed the view.
We then continued on to the Jewish Museum, which actually encompasses seven sites. The first was the Pinkas Synagogue. It has the handwritten names of all of the Jews (about 80,000) killed by the Nazis from the Czech lands. The cities are in yellow, the family names are in red and the first names (as well as birthday and last day the person was known to be alive) are in black. Haughton, Ridgely and I spent a long time here. Before our trip, we listened to a book on tape about a girl from Nove Mesto na Morave (called "Hana's Suitcase"). So, we looked - and found - her name, Hana Brady (1931-1944). Very moving.
Other highlights included the very old, very crowded (with the dead, not too many tourists!) Jewish cemetery and the Spanish Synagogue.
When we got home, we showered and relaxed. I picked up some food for an easy dinner and some ice cream to celebrate my birthday with the kids. Each of the kids drew me a birthday picture too. Great day! :)

| On this, you can see Hana (1931-1944). The town and "Brady" is on the previous line (not in this photo). |
