Rijksmuseum

Tuesday, April 23, 2019.  We woke up early and took the tram to Rijksmuseum.  Wow!  We couldn't begin to see it all.  I was most excited to see Rembrandt's Night Watch and the elaborate doll houses from the 1600s.  Haughton was also very excited to The Merry Family (by Jan Havicksz Steen, shown below) and a large model of a battle ship (see photo below).

As we left the museum, there was a small orchestra outside.  They were fantastic!  The kids were mesmerized.  We stayed til they finished playing (45 minutes?), bought their CD and Haughton got them to sign it at the end.  What a treat :)

The kids are now working on their journals.  We will then pack and get ready for Germany.
