Alcazar and warships

When we woke up this morning, Ridgely was ready for a relaxing day. Haughton, on the other hand, felt we must see the palace Alcazar and some warships that are temporarily in the Rio Guadalquivir. Although I thought relaxing would be nice, Haughton was adamant.  So, after offering to buy ice cream at the end of the day, Ridgely agreed to venture out.

We started at Alcazar since our apartment is only one short block away.  I wasn't sure what to expect.  And either were the kids.  As they raced through the gardens, they said, "This is soooo cool," "This is awesome," "I would rate Alcazar 5 stars," "So gorgeous, " ....  It was really breathtaking.  I got hungry and was actually ready to go long before they were.  Ridgely even said, "We can't go now, I still have so much energy to burn!"

The warships were not quite as exciting.  A (relatively) long walk and the guided tour was in Spanish.  I must admit, our Spanish is improving though!

  1. Such a great mom! Such lucky children! If Alcazar is anything like Alhambra - I'm smiling at my memories of visiting the place.

  2. I love to see all your fun, happy photos. Lovely boxwood garden, ponds, that tree!, and rustic architecture... always taking in ideas for spring gardening. (Never mind that it randomly snowed here Saturday and killed half the flowers I planted. Oops!) Soak up some sunshine for us :)

    1. Thanks for reading! Apparently, it froze the other night in Virginia too. Poor Greg has been carrying our plants inside and outside for months.
